CALGARY, Nov. 17 /CNW/ - Sienna Gold Inc. (SGP.V TSX Venture Exchange) announces the latest assay results from the 3175 level and several small shallow tunnels between the 2750 to 3050 elevation. All elevations indicated are stated in meters above sea level. Of the 775 samples analyzed to date from the upper and lower tunnels the length weighted-average gold content is 3 grams per tonne and the length weighted average silver value is 123 grams per tonne. Assuming current gold and silver prices the weighted average gold equivalent value of the 775 samples is approximately 5 grams per tonne. This represents the average grade for the 3 major tunnels (each from 50 to 100 meters in length) and the smaller workings. This sampling program to date has confirmed that the vertical extent of disseminated mineralization of the Tesoro zone is in excess of 400 meters. The Company has received permission from the Peruvian government to drill up to 20 surface, diamond drill holes on the Igor property.
Latest Assay Results The latest sample results are from a ventilation tunnel located at elevation 3175 which connects to the 3150 level. Samples were also taken from several small (1 to 6 meter length) tunnels located at lower elevations (2750 to 3050 elevation) in the Tesoros disseminated mineralization zone.
Assay Results from the 3175 Tunnel A total of 131 samples were collected in the 3175 tunnel within the disseminated Tesoros zone of these 23% had assay values greater than 8 g/t of gold and 29% had assay values greater than 100 g/t silver. The average grade of specific zones in the 3175 tunnel are as follows:

Drill Program This initial drill program includes 18, surface drilled, BQ-sized (1.5 inch diameter) diamond drill holes totalling 2,580 meters and with an average hole length of 143 meters. The program is designed to test all of the mineralized targets that have been identified by the extensive field mapping and sampling program. It is anticipated that the first 1,500 meters will be drilled and then the program will be paused to make adjustments to the location of subsequent holes on the basis of the data obtained. The Company has signed a contract with MDS Drilling of Lima, Peru who have visited the site and will start mobilizing to the field with a diesel operated rig before the end of the November. The drill program will utilize one drill rig operating 24 hours per day.
Sampling Methodology The samples were taken by first exposing fresh rock in a 15 centimetre wide by 2 centimetre deep channel in the walls (longitudinal) and roof (perpendicular) of the tunnels. Continuous samples were then chipped from the full width of the channel and collected for analysis. Where the rocks are too hard for a full width sample, narrower samples are taken from within the prepared channel zone ensuring that samples from the full width of the channel are obtained. Roof samples were taken approximately every 5 meters along the length of the tunnels (when accessible) accounting for lithology changes and ground conditions.
Assaying Methodology The samples were analyzed by SGS Laboratories in Lima by atomic absorption for silver and a 30 gram fire assay technique for the gold analysis. Samples which exceeded the detection limits were re-assayed using a gravimetric fire assay technique. The specific procedures used by the lab can be found in the company's 43-101 report on the Igor property.
