HALIFAX, March 18, 2014/CNW/ - The Board of Directors of Zephyr Minerals Ltd. ("Zephyr" or the "Company") (TSX-V: ZFR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Monte Swanas a technical advisor to the Company. Mr. Swan has extensive experience on the Dawson Gold Project ("Dawson") having completed a multi-element stratigraphic and metal dispersion analysis of the gold-bearing units at Dawsonfor Uranerz USAInc. in 1992.
Mr. Swan of Evergreen Colorado, is a geologist with extensive experience in structural geology, economic geology, geochemistry, plate tectonics, and geological mapping. Monte earned his B.S. degree in Geological Engineering from Michigan Technological Universityand M.S. degree in Geology from the University of Arizona.
Monte began his career as a geologist for Kennecott's Geological Research Group focusing on basement lithology and structure and as an exploration geologist for Newmont Mining Company at the time of their initial major gold discoveries in Nevada.
Since 1983 he has helped co-develop the MagmaChem Classification and applied it to mineral and oil and gas exploration. This work was funded at the $100 millionlevel and resulted in the discovery of 20 metal deposits and 1 geothermal system on 3 continents, totaling more than $60 billionworth of copper, gold, and silver.
He has been an adjunct geology professor and is a published author with Random House Publishers.
