Vitesse Energy Inc. press release
Benton receives final assays from initial drill program at Saganaga gold property

THUNDER BAY, ON, Feb. 16 /CNW/ - Benton Resources Corp. ("Benton") is pleased to announce that it has now received results from all eleven diamond drill holes completed by Teck Cominco Limited ("Teck Cominco") on the Saganaga gold project located 120 km west of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The results are highlighted by the last hole, SAG06-11, that returned 5.36 grams per tonne (gpt) gold (Au) over 20 metres (m) starting from surface as well as narrower higher grading intervals (Press Release dated January 18, 2007). A summary of the results are presented in the attached table.
The eleven drill holes were spread over 900m of strike length to test a large north-south oriented induced polarization (IP) chargeability anomaly that extends for over 1000m in length. The true thickness of the mineralized intervals is unknown at this early stage. Drill hole SAG06-01 is interpreted to have been shut down short of the mineralization while the remaining holes intersected variable amounts of pyrite+albite alteration above the contact with the underlying ultramafic rocks. Most of the drill holes ended in the ultramafic suggesting that the unit is far more widespread than observed on surface. The presence of pyrite+albite+/-carbonate alteration and ultramafic rocks are positive attributes associated with major gold mining camps.
Teck Cominco has also recently completed an aeromagnetic survey on 75-metre spaced lines over the Saganaga property and merged that data with a previous airborne survey completed over the adjacent Q-9 property. Teck Cominco has completed an additional 35km of linecutting along with 9km of a planned 30km IP survey on the Saganaga/Q-9 properties this winter. Both Benton and Teck Cominco are encouraged by the results of this initial program. The widespread mineralization and alteration indicate that the Saganaga/Q-9 properties have the potential for a large gold-bearing system.
