VANCOUVER, June 21 /CNW/ - Goldex is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Larry Kornze, P. Eng., to the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Kornze brings to Goldex his expertise from over 30 years of international gold exploration. Mr. Kornze held positions with Barrick Gold Exploration Inc., Newmont Mines Ltd. and Getty Mining Co. Mr. Kornze was Barrick's U.S. Exploration Manager followed by General Manager of Exploration for Mexico and Central America, and responsible for International Evaluations. While working with the Barrick Exploration team at the Goldstrike Mine in Nevada, Mr. Kornze was responsible for the discovery of the Betze, Miekle, Deepstar, Screamer and Rodeo deposits. Since his retirement from Barrick Gold, Mr. Kornze has operated as an independent geological consultant and sits on the board of several public exploration companies. Goldex looks forward to Mr. Kornze's technical contributions and advice in developing their gold exploration project Guatemala.
