TSXV - TSX Venture Exchange · Scandium · Rare Earth Elements · Gold · Canada
Mar. 25, 2010 (TheNewswire.ca) --
Toronto, March 25, 2010 - Hawk Uranium Inc. (OOTC:HWKPF) (TSXV:HUI) (TSX-V:HUI, FRANKFURT:HPM)("Hawk") has been advised by its joint venture partner, MacDonald Mines Exploration (TSXV:BMK) Ltd ("MacDonald" - TSX.V: BMK that a drill program, targeting nickel and VMS style mineralization, will commence on the Hawk/MacDonald Joint Venture - McNugget Property, in the Ring of Fire area, James Bay Lowlands, in late March, 2010.
The Hawk/MacDonald - McNugget JV Property (MacDonald (63.25%) and Hawk (36.75%) is comprised of 6 contiguous mining claims (approximately 3,840 acres) and is enclosed within the larger MacDonald McNugget claim block. MacDonald Mines is the operator and all exploration work will be conducted by MacDonald contractors.
A reinterpretation of previous unexplained anomalous electromagnetic conductors was conducted on Property and these have been interpreted as possible hosts for nickel sulphide (Ni-Cu-PGM) and VMS (Cu-Zn-Ag) targets. The drill program will be managed by Quentin Yarie, P.Geo - the new Vice President of Exploration for MacDonalds, and assisted by consulting geologists Hadyn Butler, P.Geo and Dr. Larry Hulbert, P.Geo.
The drill program is budgeted to conduct approximately 4,400 metres of drilling on the entire McNugget Property, which includes the HUI/BMK joint venture project. A borehole geophysical survey of all diamond drill holes is also part of the drill program.
Hawk is pleased to partner with MacDonald Mines in the 2010 exploration season in the ‘Ring of Fire' area of Northern Ontario.
