Jan. 21, 2010 (TheNewswire.ca) --

Great Bear Uranium Corp. ("Great Bear" or the " Company")(CNSX:GBR) reports that Mountain Boy Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:MTB) ("Mountain Boy"), in a News Release dated January 21, 2010, (TSXV : MTB) has released further results from its 2008 drill program at the BA Project in northern British Columbia. Highlights include a 6.1 metre interval returning 494.45 g/t silver, 2.08% lead and 2.25% zinc.

Drill Results from the 2008 Program

In the January 21, 2010 News Release, Mountain Boy reports assay results from 11 of the 23 outstanding previously unassayed diamond drill holes which were completed as part of its 2008 exploration program at the BA Project.

Highlights of this drilling include DDH-2008-BA-51, which intersected a 6.1 metre interval returning 494.45 g/t silver, 2.08% lead and 2.25% zinc within a longer 30.49 metre interval returning 190.47 g/t silver, 1.39% lead and 1.80% zinc, and DDH-2008-BA-43, which intersected a 12.19 metre interval returning 190.5 g/t silver, 0.92% lead and 0.76% zinc.

The VMS mineralization is hosted within mudstones, mudstone breccias and dacite breccias lying below the main exhalative horizon. Surface exposure of the mineralized horizon extends for approximately 800 metres along strike length in the drilled area.

The results from DDH-2008-BA-51 demonstrate the high silver enrichment of this volcanogenic massive sulfide system and reinforce the need for ongoing exploration activity at the BA Project.

The BA Project

The BA Project is located 30 km east of Stewart, British Columbia, straddling paved highway 37A on the north flank of Cambria Peak, within the same stratigraphic horizon which hosts the Eskay Creek mine. The host rocks are part of the upper Hazelton Group of the Stikine terrane, which comprises a series of Middle Jurassic bimodal volcanics deposited in a back-arc basin. The zinc-lead-silver mineralization is part of an exhalative volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) style, base and precious metal mineralization system. Mineralization has been mapped over a strike length of approximately 12 km at the BA Property.

As disclosed in the Company's News Release dated January 12, 2010, Great Bear has an option to earn up to a 70% interest in a joint venture with Mountain Boy on the BA Claims and George Copper Claims, which together comprise the BA Project.
