VANCOUVER, Oct. 4 /CNW/ - Goldex Resources Corporation (TSX-V: GDX) (http://www.goldex.ca) is pleased to announce the following updates from its El Pato project, Guatemala. Recent exploration work has focused on prospecting beyond the limits of the known gold zones previously tested by trenching and drilling by the DGM, JICA and UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. THE EL PATO PROJECT'S GOLD MINERALIZED CORRIDOR IS 2.5 km LONG AND IS NOW EXPANDING. A new area of vein outcrops has now been discovered along trend 12 km to the NE. Four surface rock samples taken from the poorly exposed quartz vein outcrops returned results of 2.2g/T to 15.1g/T gold. The vein is exposed in outcrop up to 3 meters in thickness and strikes NE, parallel to the El Pato trend. Mapping and sampling is ongoing in this area. The samples for which there are analytical results include:

Gold mineralization at El Pato is hosted by epithermal style banded quartz veins with pyrite and arsenopyrite. Newly discovered veins and mineralized fault structures are also being mapped and sampled along trend to the west and southwest from the El Pato zone with results pending. Analytical work for the current exploration program is being done by BSI Inspectorate of Reno, Nevada, an ISO certified lab, and all samples are delivered to the BSI sample preparation lab in Guatemala City by Goldex geologists. Goldex is also in discussions with drilling contractors to secure a core drill early in 2006. A drilling program is being planned that will test the several new target areas currently being mapped and sampled and to also complete some new drilling in the zones previously tested by DGM and UN. Drilling in the El Pato zone should confirm and expand upon the known resource as calculated by the UN prior to NI 43101. The qualified person for Goldex is Richard W. Bybee Pgeo, who is responsible for the verification and quality assurance of the data set forth in this release.
