Cantex Mine Development Corp. - Update on drilling at the Al Hariqah gold deposit, Yemen

TSXV - TSX Venture Exchange · Silicon · Aluminium · Hydrogen · Lithium · Titanium · Canada

LOWNA, BC, Jan. 30 /CNW/ - Cantex Mine Development Corp (CD - TSX Venture Exchange) ("Cantex" or the "Company"). Twenty-two percussion holes have now been completed out of the planned 45 holes at the Al Hariqah gold project in Yemen. As previously reported the gold mineralization at Al Hariqah occurs along a four kilometer long zone and previous drilling was restricted to the northernmost 1100 meters. Drilling of the remaining 23 holes is currently in progress. The 45 drill holes reported above are designed to provide further information within the previously drilled area as well as subsurface information over a strike length of 2340 meters of the deposit. Gold results, as determined by fire assay at ALS Chemex, an ISO 9001:2000 accredited laboratory in Vancouver, have now been received for the first two holes of this new program. The best intersection from the first hole, PDH 03, is 2.02 g/t over 4.5 meters at 64.5 meters vertical depth. The best intersection from the second hole, PDH 18, is 1.84 g/t over a vertical depth of 57 meters from surface. Included in this latter intersection is a high grade intercept of 3.29 g/t over 27 meters. Both of these holes are vertical, 90 mm in diameter, and were drilled using the Company's reverse circulation percussion drill. Sampling, and logging of the drill holes was carried out by Cantex's geologists on site in Yemen, and sample preparation was carried out at the CF Mineral Research Laboratory Ltd in Kelowna. These two holes were located in the previously drilled area and the results obtained are consistent with existing results nearby. Samples from a further 11 percussion drill holes from Al Hariqah have now arrived in Canada and, following sample preparation at the CF Mineral Research Laboratory, will shortly be sent for analysis. As reported previously, the Company has carried out a 12 hole core drilling program to test the mineralized electromagnetic (UTEM) anomaly at its Suwar nickel - copper - cobalt project in Yemen. Core from two holes have been analyzed and reported previously and samples from a third hole have been submitted for analysis. Core from the remaining nine holes from Suwar have now arrived in Canada and following logging and splitting at the CF Mineral Research Laboratory, will shortly be sent for analysis for nickel, copper, cobalt and platinum group elements.
