Oct. 26, 2010 (TheNewswire.ca) --
Copper Reef Mining Corporation sadly reports the tragic death of one of its directors Stephen Davies, B.A.Sc., P.Eng. of Snow Lake, Manitoba. He had served on Copper Reef's board since 2004 when he joined it as a founding member.
Steve was born in Toronto and received his training at the Haileybury School of Mines and
Michigan Technological University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering. He had an impressive career as a mining engineer having held senior operating positions at Vale Inco's Thompson Manitoba mines, at Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting's operations in Snow Lake and Flin Flon, at Cameco's Eagle Point Mine and at Kinross's Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake. He was Vice-President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer of both Crowflight Minerals Inc. (TSX:CML) and Kria Resources Ltd. (OOTC:KIARF) (TSXV:KIA)
Steve's great talent and experience is a huge loss for our northern mining communities and to our industry Canada wide, where his enthusiasm and positive outlook brought inspiration as well as talent to everything he tackled. He brought to the Copper Reef's board not only his great experience but valuable insight into the economics of our projects. He will be greatly missed by all at Copper Reef. All his fishing and hunting buddies and his Church Community will dearly miss the friendship, wit and fellowship that he shared with all of us.
On behalf of the board and staff of Copper Reef, Steve Masson, the President of the Company and a long time colleague and friend of Steve Davies, expresses his sincere condolences to Steve's wife Laurie and their four children
