NEW STOCK PICK: This Gold Producer Has Spent Three Years Rebuilding.

Corporate turnarounds aren't pretty.
They're expensive, they take time, and shareholders don't always have the patience to stick around while management does the heavy lifting.
But here's the thing about a good turnaround: The biggest opportunity can come before the market realizes the hard work is starting to pay off.
And that's exactly what caught our attention with Galiano Gold (TSX/NYSE American: GAU).
Our Senior Analyst, Jeff Valks (JV), has been digging into Galiano's transformation at the Asanko Gold Mine in Ghana. After three years of rebuilding, reinvesting, and getting the operation back on track, we believe the company may be approaching a very interesting turning point.
The Hard Work Is Already Underway
Galiano isn't starting from scratch.
It already has a producing gold mine, a processing plant capable of handling 5.8 million tonnes annually, approximately 2 million ounces of gold reserves, and 3.4 million ounces of measured and indicated resources.
That's a pretty substantial foundation.
The mine produced 121,000 ounces of gold in 2025, with 2026 guidance calling for 140,000–160,000 ounces.
But JV's analysis isn't simply about where production stands today.
It's about what could change next.
Higher-grade ore is expected to enter the production mix, several deposits offer additional growth opportunities, and a series of upcoming operational milestones could begin changing how investors value the company.
And there's another important development coming at year-end that could make 2027 particularly interesting.
The Market Hasn't Forgotten the Growing Pains
Turnarounds come with baggage.
Higher operating costs, significant capital spending, and the time required to rebuild a mining operation can all weigh on investor sentiment.
Galiano has experienced its share.
But JV identified something worth paying attention to: the company's valuation relative to its peers, particularly if its operating improvements begin translating into stronger cash flow.
That's where the story gets interesting.
Because when a producer starts delivering more ounces, improving its cost profile, and demonstrating that years of investment are beginning to pay off, the market can start looking at that company very differently.
Of course, execution still matters. Management has to deliver, and higher royalties in Ghana add another challenge to the equation.
But the ingredients for a potential re-rating are beginning to come together.
Why We're Paying Attention Now
What I like about JV's work here is that this isn't a story dependent on one spectacular drill hole or a discovery that might take a decade to develop.
We're looking at an existing producer with established infrastructure, multiple avenues for growth, and several important milestones approaching over the next 12 months.
The question isn't whether Galiano has invested heavily in its future. It has.
The question is whether those investments are about to start delivering the kind of results that get the market's attention.
JV has laid out the numbers, the upcoming catalysts, the valuation comparison, and what we believe investors should be watching most closely.
And after reviewing the full picture, we've officially added Galiano Gold to The Gold Advisor portfolio.
Three years of rebuilding.
Now comes the interesting part.
Will the market finally reward the work that's been done?
We certainly like the potential.
